Drugs seized from ousted Assad regime headquarters destroyed

Drugs stored in warehouses in intelligence buildings in the capital Damascus were transported to open areas by trucks.
The bags of drugs were stacked in a pit in the 4th Division compound.
General Security Administration personnel took precautions in the region and destroyed 1 ton of drugs by burning them.
The General Security Administration Anti-Drug Department Head Anver Abdulhay told AA correspondent that narcotics were seized in intelligence buildings affiliated with the ousted regime in an operation conducted as part of the General Security Administration’s intensive work.
Abdulhay stated that these items were destroyed under the supervision of officials from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Justice.
Noting that there were drugs such as Captagon and Tramadol among the seized items, Abdulhay said, "The fight against drugs will continue with determination."
