'WE BECAME RELATIVES OF OUR MARTYRS'Governor Davut Gül, who visited Edirnekapı Martyrs' Cemetery before Eid al-Adha, said, "As with every holiday, our citizens visit the graves of their relatives on the Eve of Eid. As you know, families of martyrs are the relatives of our entire nation. Our martyrs have a limited number of relatives before they are martyred. After they are martyred, we, the fathers, mothers, siblings and relatives of all 86 million people, came to visit our martyrs as public servants and city administrators. While we were here, we greeted the families of our martyrs at their graves with them. On this occasion, we wish God's mercy upon all our martyrs. We wish our veterans health and well-being. On this occasion, we congratulate you and our fellow citizens in Istanbul once again on Eid."
'THE UNDISCONTINUING, UNSTOPPABLE FIRE INSIDE US STILL CONTINUES'Visiting his martyr brother at Edirnekapı Cemetery before Eid al-Adha, his brother Osman Önder said, “Although it has been a long time, the unquenchable, unquenchable fire inside us still continues, all our holidays are spent in this cemetery. Every holiday, all our holidays are for the last 35 years. For example, today our governor came, thank you. He congratulated us on our holiday. The people here. But it was less crowded than I expected. I thought more families of martyrs would come here. But I have been here for more than half an hour now. No more than 20-30 families have come here. I don’t know the reason, but the district governor’s office informed us. That’s why I came. Happy holiday to everyone.”
'IT WAS DIVINE DETERMINATION'Martyr's father Fehmi Kömürcü said, "It was God's will, it happened like this. There is nothing to do. It has been 29 years since he was martyred. He was martyred in a conflict in 1996. Now they are saying a terror-free Turkey. If mothers and fathers like this will not cry, if they will not shed tears, we give them full support. But if they continue like this, then let the military come down on them."
Martyr's father Hacı Yanardağ said, "Our pain is great. We do not want such young people to be in trouble again. We are sick. Everyone has become diabetic. We had angioplasty, for example, from the heart. The pain does not end, the pain continues until death."
