Power outage affected 99 percent of the country, state of emergency declared!

A State of Emergency (OHAL) was declared in the South American country of Chile due to a power outage that affected 99 percent of the country.

According to national media reports, the power outage across the country affected more than 8 million people and brought life to a standstill.

The government declared a state of emergency after almost the entire country was left without electricity and imposed a curfew in many regions, especially the capital Santiago.

Power outages disrupted transportation and daily life, and there was great chaos in traffic, especially in Santiago.

While banking, finance, mining and commercial activities were halted in Chile, thousands of police and soldiers were assigned to critical points to ensure public safety.

Local media reported that electricity had been restored in some areas, but many refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers and other household appliances were damaged as a result.

BORIC HOLDS PRIVATE SECTOR RESPONSIBLE
Chilean President Gabriel Boric said in a statement that this situation, which victimizes millions of people, is unacceptable.
"What is happening today angers us all. The daily lives of millions of people have been negatively affected by the irresponsibility of one or several companies. We will hold those responsible accountable. We also want institutions to function properly and for this emergency to end as soon as possible," Boric said.

"We know that electricity has been restored in some areas, but the situation is still unstable. Therefore, we must act with caution. Military personnel, police and investigation teams are on the ground," said Boric, who blamed the company "ISA Chile" for the power outage.

THOUSANDS OF PASSENGERS WERE NEGATIVELY AFFECTED
