Sails opened for children on the Bosphorus

Nearly 50 sailboats competed fiercely on the Bosphorus to contribute to the education of disadvantaged children and their acquaintance with the sea. The income from the race will be donated to children's education projects in the field of maritime.

THE RACE WENT LIKE THE WIND

The race started at 12:00 off the coast of Çırağan Palace and the boats proceeded along the Bosphorus towards the coast of Beykoz. Then they changed their course to Fenerbahçe Sığlık Buoy and reached the finish line in front of the Marmara Yelken Sports Club. The spectators gathered on both sides of the Bosphorus along the route showed great interest in the competition.

Akkök Holding Cheese VIII boat finished the competition in 1st place, Enka Cheese IV boat finished in 2nd place, and Vakkorama II boat finished in 3rd place.

Federation representatives, managers of sponsor companies and senior members of Lion clubs met at the protocol viewing area set up at Kabataş Boys High School. The public viewing terrace at Akıntıburnu and Emirgan hosted thousands of sailing enthusiasts and families. Participants witnessed the struggle of sailboats racing on the Bosphorus.

Lions 118-T Federation officials emphasized that this organization is not only a sports event, but also a great social responsibility project that gives hope to children. Marmara Sailing Sports Club expressed their honor to host this meaningful race that strengthens Istanbul's connection with the sea. Lions Sailing Cup 2025 left an unforgettable mark on the Bosphorus. The sailboats moved away but left behind a strong hope for the future of children.
