Victory speech from Tufan Erhürman

Victory speech from Tufan Erhürman

Tufan Erhürman, the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) candidate, has been elected the new President of the TRNC. Following the announcement of the unofficial election results, Erhürman delivered a thank-you speech, saying, "I am no longer the Chairman of the Republican Turkish Party; I am the President of all citizens," thus conveying a message of impartiality and unity.

“WE WON TOGETHER”

Erhürman, recalling that they set out to "walk together" throughout the election process, said, "We kept our first two promises: we walked together and we won together. Now we will keep our third promise: we will govern together."

Thanking the Republican Turkish Party staff, party members, and everyone who supported him during the campaign, Erhürman said, "This success is not just a party's, but the collective success of our people."

“I WILL EMBRACE ALL CITIZENS”

Erhürman stated that he would now serve independently of his party, saying, "I will embrace all my citizens, regardless of their party affiliation. I am no longer the President, but someone who represents the Presidency and will govern together with all the people."

Erhürman described the Presidency as “not an office to be governed alone, but a working area where collective wisdom will be produced.”

Erhürman stated that the fundamental principles of the Presidency in the new term will be equality and freedom, saying, "The President will be the guardian of equality and freedom. There will be no discrimination between any citizen."

Erhürman, who evaluated their leading position in all districts as a "reflection of the common will of the people," said, "This result shows that our brotherhood is intact and that we are united."

CALL FOR CELEBRATION

Erhürman thanked the public and invited all citizens to the celebration to be held at Kızılbaş Park at 9:30 p.m., saying, "I'm waiting for everyone there, whether they voted for us or not. Let's reinforce our unity once again. Democracy is more than just voting or not voting; it's the will to live together."
