Workers' massacre continues in DEM Party municipalities: Number of dismissed workers rises to 876

The workers' protest in front of the DEM Party's Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has been going on for 330 days. Speaking to SABAH, Hizmet İş Union Diyarbakır Branch President Ercan Kahraman said that with the latest massacres in Bağlar Municipality and DİSKİ affiliated with the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, the number of workers laid off has reached 876. Kahraman said, "They are coming at workers like a truck with broken brakes. The only action they have taken for 14 months is to fire workers and hire workers. They have not had enough of taking on people's sins. Those who talk about rights and law every day do not recognize either rights or law. Such cruelty and hostility towards workers has never been seen in any period."
"A LOT OF OPPRESSION FOR LABOR, A LOT OF RECRUITS FOR SUPPORTERS"
Hizmet İş Union Central Women's Committee Vice President Arzu Tekin said that hostility towards labor and workers in municipalities run by the Democratic Party continues during the "Türkiye Without Terrorism" process. Tekin said, "We continue to provide all kinds of support, especially free legal support, to workers who were unjustly dismissed. We are with them with all our means. Our action tent has been here for 330 days. Workers whose bread was taken from me resist in summer, winter, hot and cold, and seek justice. They unjustly dismiss people and do not comply with court decisions. They do not pay workers' receivables and social rights. On the one hand, they say there is no money, on the other hand, they make purchases after purchases. They have no respect for labor or workers. This is not the way. Put an end to this oppression, injustice, and unfairness as soon as possible. As the Hak İş and Hizmet İş family, the action we started upon the instructions of our General President Mahmut Arslan and the struggle for rights you have given for workers will continue until the end. This tent will be removed on one condition. That is, the victimization of all victimized workers must be redressed."
SLAUGHTER ON ONE SIDE, PURCHASE ON THE OTHER SIDE
The hiring of new workers in DEM Party municipalities continues. In Diyarbakır, where 876 workers were laid off, the number of people hired approached 3,000. Finally, the Metropolitan Municipality announced that it would hire 25 people, including truck drivers, public relations officers, manual workers, foremen, bus drivers and cleaning staff. It is noteworthy that the specifications do not include criteria such as KPSS and interviews, and that it states that "those deemed suitable will be hired."
