NO COUNTRY COULD DO THIS
Zey Village, affiliated to the central district of Adıyaman, was severely damaged in the February 6 earthquakes. The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, General Directorate of Construction Works rebuilt the village on a 135-acre area at the foot of İndere, the largest construction site in the earthquake zone. All 107 village houses planned for the project have been completed. Minister Kurum, who visited Zey Village as part of his Adıyaman visit, was enthusiastically welcomed by the citizens.
A citizen who stated that the work in the village was completed with great devotion said, "No country could have built this place. May God bless you a thousand times over. You have looked after us like babies since the first day. I want to hug you." Minister Kurum, who later visited the house of the Er family with 2 children, said, "Our state and nation joined hands, today, thank God, our citizens are living in these houses in safety and peace."
"OUR HOMES ARE PERFECTLY MADE"
The owner of the house, Abdullah Er, 52, said, "Our houses are perfectly built," while his wife, Zehra Er, 46, said, "A huge mountain was pierced, a city center was opened." During the visit, middle school student Medine Er read a poem about the earthquake that she wrote with her school principal. The family's 7-year-old son Ahmet read two verses of the National Anthem to Minister Kurum.
Expressing his satisfaction with the work done in the village, village headman İsrafil Ay said, "Nobody would have ever thought that such houses would be built here, that this would be such a modern village." Headman Ay described the insulation of the houses with the words, "All houses are heated with a single piece of wood." Minister Kurum also gave instructions for the construction of an astroturf pitch for the children who cheered him for one during the visit.
