"Our mosques carry the Seljuk elegance"

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan performed Friday prayers at the National Defense University Rectorate Mosque. Following the prayer, President Erdoğan attended the opening ceremonies of mosques on the National Defense University campuses. The opening ceremonies for the Naval Petty Officer Vocational School Mosque in Yalova, the Army Petty Officer Vocational School Mosque in Balıkesir, and the Gaziemir Air Petty Officer Vocational School Mosque in İzmir were also held, with President Erdoğan participating via teleconference.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan said, "Today, we are opening six new mosques, the construction of which has been completed at our National Defense University and its affiliated units, to worship. In 2023, we completed and commissioned three mosques at our land, naval, and air warfare academies. Now, we are inaugurating the 864-person capacity National Defense University Rectorate Mosque. We will, God willing, open the 1,183-person capacity Army Non-Commissioned Officer Vocational School Mosque in Balıkesir, the 725-person capacity Naval Non-Commissioned Officer Vocational School Mosque in Altınova, Yalova, and the 1,043-person capacity Air Non-Commissioned Officer Vocational School Mosque in Gaziemir, Izmir, together via live broadcasts. As promised, we are bringing nine new mosques to the Prophet's House. Each of our mosques bears distinctive architectural elements, reflecting the style and elegance of the Seljuk period. I hope that the prayers and worship recited in these mosques will be auspicious."
