Tensions in CHP's delegate election! Headquarters intervened, election canceled

The CHP Afyonkarahisar Central District Headquarters' neighborhood delegate elections began yesterday at the provincial headquarters. Some members objected and reacted because one of their members had voted in the wrong ballot box.
Meanwhile, tensions arose among party members. Some members attacked CHP Afyonkarahisar Central District Chair Büşra Dişçioğlu Çetinöz. Çetinöz notified the police. The situation was calmed down with the intervention of party officials. A report of the election events was sent to party headquarters. A decision to annul the election, signed by CHP Deputy Chairs Ensar Aytekin and Meryem Gül Çiftçi Binici, and CHP Secretary General Selin Sayek Böke, was submitted to the provincial and district headquarters.
"THERE WILL BE DIFFERENCES OF OPINION"
CHP Afyonkarahisar Provincial Chair Faruk Duha Erhan made a statement with central district presidential candidates Büşra Dişçioğlu Çetinöz, Umut Kılıç, and Murat Albayrak. Provincial Chair Erhan said, "We launched the central district presidential delegate election with our three esteemed candidates. We were going to elect our neighborhood delegates with our neighborhood members. Afterward, we were going to hold the CHP Afyonkarahisar Central District presidential election. There were some problems. To avoid any disruptions, we decided to postpone it to another date. According to our election calendar, we need to complete the election process by September 7, 2025. We will announce the date of the CHP Afyonkarahisar Central District presidential delegate election once the date is finalized. These differences of opinion are the richness of our party. There will always be some debates."
"ALL VOTES HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED INVALID AND THE DELEGATE ELECTION HAS BEEN CANCELLED"
CHP Afyonkarahisar Central District Chair and mayoral candidate Büşra Dişçioğlu Çetinöz stated that the votes cast due to the unrest during the election were deemed invalid. Çetinöz stated, "In this regard, the delegate elections in the central district will be re-held according to the schedule determined by the headquarters."
KILIÇ: I CONDEMN THIS INITIATIVE IN THE CLEAREST WAY
Central District Mayoral Candidate Umut Kılıç explained that the arguments that began after a party member voted in the wrong ballot box escalated into tension. Kılıç stated that Central District Mayor Çetinöz was verbally abused, saying, "This behavior is an attack not only on the district chairman himself, but also on our party's democratic culture. I condemn this attempt in the clearest possible terms." Kılıç also claimed that another incident that compromised election security occurred, claiming that a municipal employee allegedly close to the candidate on the blue list attempted to overshadow the members' will by mixing up the red ballots from different neighborhoods. Kılıç also explained that the incident was officially recorded and documented with images.
