The poverty line has quadrupled the minimum wage

According to BİSAM, the monthly expenditure required for a family of four to maintain a healthy and balanced diet is 25,811 TL. This figure only includes the minimum amount needed for food. Based on the calculations based on household consumption expenditures based on the hunger threshold, the poverty line is 89,282 TL. This figure quadruples the minimum wage of 22,104 TL.

The hunger threshold exceeded the minimum wage by 3,708 lira. The hunger and poverty thresholds were determined using the Turkish Statistical Institute's index figures for expenditure groups, 2003 commodity prices, Istanbul Halk Ekmek, current month internet prices at chain markets, and the BİSAM Nutritional Pattern.
