CANiK showed its strength on the field in the UK

Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS Grup), which also includes CANiK, made an important capability display in the UK as part of its international promotion activities. SYS Grup participated in the Close Combat Symposium (CCS) 2025, one of the most prestigious defense events in the UK, on July 1-3, 2025. CCS 2025 brought together UK Ministry of Defense procurement authorities, NATO and partner country delegations, research institutes and system integrators. SYS Grup reinforced its leading position in the UK and global defense industry by demonstrating the field performance of its products on this platform.
At the event, where CANiK was the "Five-Star Plus" sponsor, CANiK, AEI Systems and UNIROBOTICS, which are part of the SYS Group ecosystem, exhibited their entire product portfolio and introduced their wide portfolio ranging from light weapons to medium caliber weapons and remote-controlled fire control systems with the vision of "a holistic solution under one roof".
AEI Systems’ VENOM LR 30.113 mm medium caliber cannon was integrated with the TRAKON 30 Remote Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) onto NMS UK’s Dragon 44 tactical wheeled armored combat vehicle and exhibited in the United Kingdom, and for the first time at this symposium, a 30mm system conducted live firing. The 30.113 mm system, which attracted great attention at field demonstrations in Lithuania, demonstrated its real field performance to the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MOD) and international procurement delegations. Designed specifically for the UK by Nurol Makina’s UK-based company NMS UK, the Dragon 44 vehicle combined with the VENOM LR 30.113 mm and TRAKON 30 provided its users with superior mobility and firepower with the 100% British-made platform and weapon system. The event also featured live firing demonstrations of the M2 QCB, M2F and M3 heavy machine guns and CANiK pistols.
The VENOM LR 30113 mm gun, the world's lowest recoil and adjustable rate of fire gun, offers a wide range of use from 4x4 tactical vehicles to naval platforms. VENOM LR also provides a supply advantage in global markets with its structure compatible with all European and US-made 30113 mm ammunition. At the symposium, General Dynamics-made M788 ammunition used in the UK's Apache Helicopter program was fired, and it was demonstrated that the ammunition in the UK's inventory can also be used in this weapon system.
TRAKON 30 UKSS, with its autonomous stabilization and two-axis fully synchronized gun-optical system, performs with high accuracy and rapid response time against asymmetric threats. The members of the CANiK 12.7 mm heavy machine gun family, M2 QCB, M2F and M3, whose performance has been proven in Ukraine, offer high firepower to land, sea and air platforms. The CANiK 9 mm pistol family, preferred by security forces worldwide, stands out with its ergonomic design and high performance.
SYS Group General Manager Utku Aral said that the holistic solutions created with the capabilities of AEI Systems, which joined the Group in 2022 and is a representative of the British medium caliber engineering heritage, make significant contributions to today's defense needs. Emphasizing that they have signed integrations that will create a force multiplier in the field, especially the integration of VENOM LR 30113 mm to TRAKON 30 UKSS, Aral said, "As a result of our work, we realized the first live firing of VENOM LR 30113 mm in this symposium. This is a concrete indicator of the 'design-produce-integrate' capability of the SYS ecosystem that we emphasize. We will continue to offer solutions that make a difference in the field with these and similar projects, meet the needs of our users in the best way possible, and assume new responsibilities."
Simon Angel, Managing Director of AEI Systems, said: "By combining our 50-year British engineering heritage with the global vision of SYS Group, we are delivering a new generation system that is tailored to today's needs. This ecosystem provides both technological superiority and opens the door to the global market for flexible, reliable and effective systems for modern defence needs."
