CHP set out for November 2: Detailed voter profile prepared

CHP leader Özgür Özel's call to AKP President Erdoğan, "If you don't put a ballot box on November 2, I will put one on November," stirred up the Ankara lobbies. Continuing its actions against the operations that started in Istanbul and spread to Anatolian municipalities, the CHP also accelerated its election preparations.

According to information obtained from CHP sources, the CHP's main and reserve ballot box officers at 191 thousand ballot boxes have been determined. On the other hand, the party administration has also selected the neighborhood representatives who will carry Ekrem İmamoğlu's presidential candidacy campaign to the streets. In this context, it was stated that a total of 45 thousand neighborhood representatives will establish face-to-face contact with all voters in the election region, starting with CHP members.

GOVERNMENT PROGRAM

It was noted that the Government Program that the Presidential Candidate Office is working on will also be actively utilized in the field. It was reported that the CHP's road map, which answers the question of "How will the CHP govern Türkiye?" in areas that concern all aspects of social life, from education to health, from justice to culture and arts, will be explained to voters face to face.

VOTER PROFILE

While fieldwork continues, it was learned that the CHP has largely completed its “ Voter Profile” study. It was explained that voters in all electoral districts in 81 provinces of Turkey were analyzed within the scope of the Voter Profile study. It was stated that the voting tendencies of all voters, including AKP and MHP voters, in the last three elections were determined in the study. It was stated that the needs specific to cities were also recorded in line with the statements of the voters. CHP members presented their study, which included answers to the question “What do voters expect from the CHP?” to the General Directorate.

IMPORTANT MEETINGS

CHP, which continues its early election preparations, hosted a series of important meetings at the CHP Headquarters. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who met with the Party Assembly and Central Executive Committee members, as well as ABB Chairman Mansur Yavaş and Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer, exchanged ideas on operations targeting municipalities.

DECISION TO EXPAND THE STRUGGLE

According to information obtained from CHP sources, the decision to “increase the struggle” emerged from all of the discussions. Party members also put forward different ideas to increase the impact of the struggle. If the government does not agree to early elections on November 2, “the resignation of deputies from metropolitan cities such as Adana, Antalya and Mersin and a by-election in the Parliament” was among the ideas put forward. Some CHP members argued that a government that cannot receive a vote of confidence in the by-elections to be held in metropolitan cities cannot maintain its legitimacy.

OPERATIONS FOR MUNICIPALITIES

CHP staff responded to the question, “Did the operations accelerate the rise of the CHP?” as follows:

“Concrete data shows this. The operations in Adana, Antalya and Adıyaman have further shaken the trust in the investigations. The operations carried out against our friends who have the favor of the majority of the public and who have carried out exemplary municipalities in the cities they have been mayors of have increased the number of those who say ‘These operations are political.’ The rate of those who think the operations are political, which was 58 percent on March 19, has increased to 63 percent as of July.”
