Metrobus fire in Bakırköy

The incident occurred at around 18:00 between the Incirli and Zeytinburnu metrobus stops. Noticing smoke coming from the engine of the moving metrobus, the driver stopped the vehicle and evacuated the passengers. While the passengers were walking away from the vehicle, the fire spread throughout the metrobus. Police, fire department and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene upon notification. Health teams determined that no one was injured. The fire was extinguished by the fire department and the metrobus became unusable after it was put out. It was claimed that the fire started in the vehicle's air conditioning system. Traffic congestion occurred on the metrobus line due to the fire. Services returned to normal after the burning metrobus was removed from the road. An investigation has been launched into the fire.
