More than 20 families gathered in Bakırköy for a "Justice Watch"

At 7:00 PM in Bakırköy Square, more than 20 families gathered to hold a "Justice Vigil." The families of 14-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was killed in Kadıköy; 22-year-old Hakan Çakır, who was killed in Ankara; and Muhammet Mutluay, who was killed after being shot while walking to the football pitch in Küçükçekmece, also attended the protest. The families called for justice.
"What upsets us is that the laws are not harsh"Tanju Mutluay, the father of Muhammet Mutluay, who was killed on his way home from a football match in Küçükçekmece, emphasized the need for harsher sentences, saying, "My son was killed by gunfire from a car behind him in Küçükçekmece as he left his office and was heading to the football field. It's been 10 months, and it will be 10 months in a week. Three of the perpetrators were caught in one week. One of them was a fugitive, and he was caught two weeks ago with a red notice. What upsets us is that the laws are not harsh."
Grieving mother Derya Mutluay, who stated that she hasn't been able to touch her son for 10 months, said, "I haven't been able to touch my son for 10 months. I was someone who constantly talked to my son. Muhammet Mutluay was working as a photographer. I talked to Muhammet around 7:30 p.m. I asked, 'Son, what time will you be home?' He said, 'Mom, we have an astroturf match.' I had fallen asleep because I had just gotten home from work. My phone rang around midnight. They came to my door. I looked at my nephew. They told me Muhammet had a minor accident. Even then, I panicked. When my nephew asked, 'Where did the bullet go?' just before the hospital, my world fell apart. My son fought for his life for three days."
"Everyone is hurting inside, not just us"Şahin Çakır, the father of 22-year-old Hakan Çakır, who was killed in Ankara, said, "We're heartbroken. We're not in a position to tell the story right now. We want justice to be served. We keep receiving threats. We own a raw meatball shop. His mother and sister are harassing him on the way home. My little son is leaving, and an argument breaks out there. We go after him. I separate the children and send them away. With a phone call, his entire family, including about 25 children, comes armed with knives and weapons. His mother, father, and the children. Then they slaughter us all there. My son grabs the knife. Just as he's about to shoot the little boy in the back, I intervene and eat him. It was such a terrible day. I came here to support the families. Everyone is hurting here, not just us. Our only reason for coming here is to prevent other families from suffering. I haven't been able to mourn my son yet, but I'm running."
