In a post shared on the social media account of the Ministry of Interior, it was stated that " Manavgat Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara was arrested within the scope of the investigation launched against him for the crimes of 'Extortion by Force, Accepting Bribes and Embezzlement' with the decision dated 08.07.2025 and numbered 2025/252 of the Manavgat 1st Criminal Court of Peace, and was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior as a temporary measure in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipality Law No. 5393."
