Villa Florida Highway works at 5% completion; second phase work could be reduced.

In coordination with the construction company, the Municipal Public Works Department is reviewing the schedule for the second phase of the Villa Florida Highway Passage, with the aim of ensuring that the work is carried out in an orderly manner and with minimal inconvenience to residents and those traveling along La Nogalera Boulevard.
The head of the department, Juan Adolfo Von Bertrab Saracho, assured that it will not be necessary to close traffic during the work, and that residents who are interested or still have questions can also request all the information related to the project, which has already been sufficiently disseminated to various agencies and the residents of Villa Florida themselves.
After the demolition of the two houses on the corner, the construction company will move the bus stop, which will be relocated from the side of La Nogalera Boulevard to González Treviño Street, on the lower part, where buses will have to stop to load and unload passengers.
In addition, an alternate entrance to the neighborhood will need to be opened, as the current one, located next to the storm drain, will be removed to allow for expansion with a second side lane, with the construction of the retaining wall.
In general terms, Preliminary works are five percent complete, and although the contract establishes a 120-day completion period for the entire project, the intention is to reduce the timescale.
For giving failure in well"Our timeline allows us to do it in less time; we're looking to close it in 90 days," explained the Director of Public Works.
The Public Works Department is also in charge of drilling two wells. In the case of the one planned for the Monterreal neighborhood, a decision has yet to be made as to which company will carry out the work.
Work is about to begin on the second well, which will be located in the Las Luisas neighborhood .
These wells are intended to supplement the water supply provided by the Torreón Municipal Water and Sanitation System (Simas) , which aims to drill seven wells this year.
In total, the 2025 annual operating program of the Public Works Department includes approximately 520 million pesos in public works investment.
