August residents have clearly brought the sun home with them. A heatwave has been gradually taking hold across France since the beginning of the week, hitting the southern half of the country hardest. This Sunday, heat peaks reaching 40°C are expected in the southeast of the country.
According to La Chaîne Météo *, " a subtropical anticyclone is causing this very hot weather ," where heatwave thresholds " will be reached between the Middle Garonne and the Lyon region ."
Skip the adAt the beginning of the week, a heatwave will cover most of France. In the Aude region, already affected by the fire, temperatures could climb to 41°C on Monday.
On Tuesday, the northeast quarter will also be affected, with temperatures of 37°C expected in Besançon. On Wednesday, the heat will persist, reaching 39°C in Strasbourg, while only the northwest quarter is expected to remain unaffected by the heatwave.
