Gemini on Google Drive turns images into useful data The new feature is designed for images that contain a lot of text , such as receipts , invoices , contracts , or scanned documents . Just open the image in Drive and click “Ask Gemini” in the top right corner. The side panel activates and gets to work. It can extract numbers, names, dates, and amounts and organize them into tables or summaries. For example, you can ask: Show me the total for this receipt
or Summarize the data for this contract
. All in natural language.
This new feature adds to a number of features already available in the Gemini panel , such as document summary , PDF file management, the ability to ask questions about video content , move files between folders, and much more.
