Donations on the rise, real estate donations up 6.8% in 2024

In our country the donations: in 2024, according to Notarial Statistics Data, in fact, "the total number of those relating to the goods furniture was 47,085, up 1.7% from 2023, when they stopped at 46,289", but it is on the front of those real estate which recorded the best performance: "they are were 217,749, with a "+6.8%" compared to the previous year, in which there had been 203,888. The numbers of the Report drawn up by the National Council of Notary, is reported in a note by the same professionals, "are collected and processed on the basis of the activity of all notarial offices in the area national and are to be considered real data, as represent the actual transactions carried out in Italy in course of 2024". From an economic-legal point of view, it should be remembered, "the donations are considered an advance on future succession, for this reason they are a valid tool for manage the generational transfer of money, companies, real estate or more generally of the family assets". Transfers of homes or buildings in general (warehouses, shops, etc.), it says, "represent 56.45% of the total, with an increase compared to 2023, when they were the 55.81%", instead remains "identical to the previous year the number of donations of bare ownership of buildings (16.64% of the total) and almost unchanged that of agricultural land (in percentage is 13.25% in 2024 compared to 13.72% of the total in 2023)". The notaries, finally, explain that "from a legal point of view geographically the instrument of real estate donations is used more frequently in the South and on the islands, where overall, 48.82% of the deeds are stipulated".
