Giuseppe Crippa, the founder of Technoprobe, has died at the age of 90

MILAN – Giuseppe Crippa , founder of Technoprobe , a company with its heart in Brianza and offices on three continents that decided to stop for a day to remember "Peppino", has died at the age of 90. Giuseppe Crippa, a visionary and brilliant entrepreneur, has left us. A great loss for all of us. I express my condolences to his family", commented the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti.

The biography

Born in Robbiate, in the province of Lecco, after a brief period at Breda in the early 1960s he joined Sgs-Ates, which later became ST Microelettronics, where he began to deal with semiconductors, also going to study in Silicon Valley. He remained in the company in various roles for thirty years.

It was two years before retiring in 1993 that he started his own business, beginning the production of probe cards in the garage and in the attic, helped by his son Cristiano (who has two siblings Roberto and Monica) and his wife Mariarosa Lavelli.

The Birth of Technoprobe

When he retired in '95, Technoprobe was formally born, which debuted on the stock exchange at Euronext Growth' in 2022. Since then he has been on the list of the richest people in Italy. In the Forbes list published last April, his and his family's assets are valued at 3.1 billion.

During Covid, he donated spaces for the vaccination campaign and paid staff to set up a hub in the company's warehouses. "Money is also useful for this - he explained in an interview with Corriere della Sera -. Otherwise nothing makes sense anymore. Growing to do something for others. And I say this because in my life there have been many people who have helped me. I don't know what will happen. I know that we need to continue investing in research because technological evolution is very rapid. We need to study new processes. But I have already done my part, I can retire satisfied
