Prime Minister Meloni on an official visit to Addis Ababa

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived in Addis Ababa for a two-day official visit to Ethiopia.
She was welcomed by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Agostino Palese . As the first stop on her visit, Meloni will meet with a delegation of Italian religious workers engaged in humanitarian projects.
The Prime Minister's agenda includes participation in the third UN Food System Summit (UN Food System Summit Stocktaking Moment +4) on Monday.
Heads of state and government, representatives of international organizations, representatives of civil society, the private sector, and academia are expected at the summit.
The Prime Minister's delegation also includes Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida and Deputy Foreign Minister Edmondo Cirielli . The discussions will focus on strengthening political commitments and accelerating public and private investments to ensure sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems.
After the meeting, Meloni will be at the National Palace for a bilateral meeting with the Ethiopian Prime Minister. The day will conclude with a meeting with the Chair of the African Union Commission, Mohamoud Ali Youssouf . In the evening, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed will host a state dinner in honor of the heads of delegations attending the UN summit.
