JKS's disastrous start. KS Wiązownica slightly better. Polonia's point

Valeriy Sokolenko's team performed very poorly in Łańcut, and deservedly lost to SPEC Stal. Only slightly better was the relegated third-division team, KS Wiązownica. While it's always difficult to play against newcomers, especially at their own stadium, at the start of the season, the team coached by Hubert Kasia should win matches like the one in Błażowa against Błażowianka. They should, because, alongside the aforementioned JKS Jarosław, they are among the contenders for the top honors this season. This sends a message to both teams that no one will bow down to them on the pitch, and no one will give up points for nothing. Perhaps Igloopol Dębica, Cosmos Nowotaniec, or Karpaty Krosno could step on their toes. They might, but they don't have to... Polonia Przemyśl, returning from a year's absence from this level, played at home to draw. Paweł Załoga's team shared the points fairly with Czarni 1910 Jasło, although if the hosts had taken the risk, who knows, maybe they would have not recorded the first set of points on their account.

Looking at the Jarosław team's summer reinforcements, they are considered the favorites for this year's fourth league campaign. Unfortunately, they completely disappointed in Łańcut. The first quarter of an hour didn't yet suggest defeat for Valeriy Sokolenko's men. The visitors took the lead and seemed destined to extend their lead. Paweł Oziębło scored the first goal, finishing a shot from Dżaba Pkhakadze, which had been saved by Filip Dziurgot. However, as time ticked down, the home side began to assert themselves. In the 42nd minute, the visitors were further fortunate, as Paweł Piątek's shot from just a few meters out hit the crossbar. However, moments later, Wiktor Łuczyk demonstrated better precision. Fueled by the equalizer, Łańcut had a golden opportunity to take the lead right after the break, but Maksym Guridov made a superb save, first winning the duel with Piątek and then saving Karol Wojtyła's rebound. In the 52nd minute, the hosts were fortunate, as Pchakadze hit the crossbar. Moments later, however, Kacper Drelich was forced off the pitch after receiving a second yellow card. Stal capitalized on their numerical advantage and scored two goals in quick succession. Kamil Matofij gave them the lead with a beautiful shot from 16 meters, and Piątek completed the scoring, redeeming himself for his earlier ineffectiveness.

  • Goals: 0:1 Macnar 49th min, 1:1 Płocica 56th min.

If you're looking for an excuse for the level of this match, blame the weather entirely. The scorching heat, combined with the incredibly muggy conditions, certainly took its toll on both teams. But that's just an alibi. The weather can't be blamed for the fact that, over the course of 90 minutes, both hands were sufficient to count the number of well-considered, coherent, inventive, and conceptually executed moves by both teams. It was a very poor match. The home side's hesitation and reliance on destruction is understandable, as their squad is – for this league – very average. They lack the guns, and then you know they're first thinking about not losing, and only then about winning. Unfortunately, the Jaślan team, with its rather interesting lineup, is simply beyond comprehension. The visitors were a complete disappointment, and if they were to lose all three points at Sanocka, they would have only themselves to blame.

Paweł Załoga's team had a chance to start the fourth-division season successfully, but they didn't take the risk. Two situations were noteworthy in the first half. The first, in the 12th minute, when Adrian Nowak, after a pass from Karol Rzońca, had a great opportunity to beat Paweł Palka, but his shot went wide. In the 20th minute, Karol Walczyszewski, after a quick exchange between his teammates, received the ball in the penalty area, but the finish was nothing to write home about. If the saying "he hit God's window" is true, then in this case it was absolutely accurate.

The goals arrived after the break. The visitors eagerly entered the second half, but it lasted only a few minutes. In that time, however, they took the lead. And it was more a matter of chance and the home side's "charitable" help than any ingenuity. The Przemyśl defenders couldn't get the ball to the corner, even where it was supposed to go. The ball hit Radosław Macnar's head and fell into the net.

This was actually the only serious error by Polonia's defensive unit, led by Michał Łazor, the absolute best player on the pitch. Credit also goes to Damian Barszczak, who successfully cleared the frontcourt. The team's quality up front was provided by P. Załoga, who introduced Szymon Płocica after the break. The son of former Polonia basketball player Grzegorz Płocica, ran and fought a lot, constantly absorbing the Jasło defense. And it was he who equalized. After a combined move and an assist from Krystian Solarz, he remained alert in the penalty area and… chested the ball into the net.

Both teams had one chance each to tip the balance in their favor until the end. In the 64th minute, Mirosław Kmiotek delivered a powerful shot from around 30m that landed just inside the post and crossbar, while in the 75th minute, Szymon Gierlach, who had been brought into position by Miłosz Gierczak, was inches away from hitting the post and finding the back of the net. A draw is a fair result.

  • Błażowianka: Dąbrowski – Walas (74. Kruła), Róg, Kołodziej, Dobrzański – Makarski, Baran (89. Tłuczek), Fluda, Mazur – Surmiak, Trzyna.
  • Wiązownica: Osobiński – Maj (89. Buńko), Kordas, Kapuściński, Guedes – Mazur, Płatek, Michalik (73. Socha), Mazek – Rop (51. Mena), Zieliński.
  • Referee: Jakub Koza (Dębica). Yellow card: Corner. Attendance: 500.

The former third-division side from Wiązownica wanted to start the season with a victory and could easily have taken all three points at the stadium of the newly promoted team from Błażowa, but they were very ineffective on Saturday evening. Patryk Zieliński had two good scoring opportunities in the first half. However, in the 15th minute, he only hit the crossbar, and towards the end of the period, he lost a one-on-one with the home team's goalkeeper. After the break, the visitors' advantage became increasingly clear, but it didn't translate into the final score. Felipe Mena had a great opportunity to open the scoring, firing just over the crossbar from a dozen or so yards out. Patryk Kapuściński could have secured the victory for the Wiązownica team in the closing stages, but the home team were saved by the post.
