Shock at the stations. Prices the lowest in years, they are expected to continue to fall

- Fuel prices at lowest in over three years and expected to continue to fall.
- The reason for the price decline is the situation on world markets.
- Everything suggests that fuel prices at the station could actually fall even further.
According to experts from the Reflex Brokerage House , prices at petrol stations will drop by another 4 to 6 groszy per litre this week. As a result, both 95 petrol and diesel prices are to drop below PLN 5.80 per litre.
We will therefore have the cheapest fuel since February 2022, when it cost that much because, as part of the memorable anti-inflation shield, it was sold with reduced VAT. If we do not count that episode, we have had the cheapest fuel at the stations since autumn 2021 and this situation is to continue for now.
Counting from the last price peak in January:
- diesel fuel at petrol stations has already fallen by 58 groszy , or 10 percent,
- and 95 petrol by 45 groszy per litre, or 7 percent.

Behind these declines is of course the situation on world markets. Crude oil, as well as products made from it, i.e. gasoline and diesel fuels, have been getting cheaper all over the world for several months due to fears of a global economic slowdown and, consequently, a drop in demand for oil.
On the other hand, the OPEC cartel countries announced an increase in the production of the raw material. As a result, Brent oil, as well as diesel listed on the world exchanges, have fallen by more than 20 percent since January.
In addition, during this time, the US dollar also fell by almost 10 percent in our country. All this suggests that fuel prices at stations could actually fall even more, but clearly refineries, intermediaries and gas station owners are taking some of the benefits resulting from the market declines, taking advantage of the opportunity and slightly increasing their margins.
