Something is happening in Germany that we will soon feel clearly in Poland

- The ZEW economic sentiment indicator for Germany rose to 25.2% in May from -14.00% in April.
- The situation in Germany could also have a positive impact on the Polish economy.
- Everything that is happening around Donald Trump's tariffs also has a huge impact on business sentiment.
Rafał Hirsch, in his review of the most important topics in the economy, drew attention to the latest data published by the ZEW Institute. The index went up significantly and thus erased the very bad impression made a month earlier, when it fell sharply to the lowest level in almost two years.

Now, according to the research institute, analysts expect demand in the German economy to increase in the next six months.
If this forecast comes true, it could also have a positive impact on our economy, as it could improve the economic situation among Polish exporters and partners of German companies.
The improvement in sentiment in the German economy is also influenced by:
- interest rate cuts in the eurozone,
- falling inflation,
- and also the establishment of a new government among our western neighbours, and thus the end of political uncertainty.
Everything that is happening around the tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump is also of great importance for business sentiment. It was because of the threat of their imposition a month ago that the ZEW index fell significantly to -14 points, and now the hope that they will be avoided has helped the index grow to +25.2 points.
