More than 1,200 Sakhalin residents took part in the ZaBeg.RF half marathon

On May 24, Sakhalin Region joined the All-Russian Half Marathon ZaBeg.RF. This is a bright and large-scale event with a synchronized start of more than 150 thousand participants from 85 cities of Russia, 11 time zones and a single start for the entire country.
This year, the race was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for the sixth time. Sakhalin residents and guests of the island region tested their strength at distances of 500 meters, 1, 5, 10 and 21.1 km on the track of the Triumph ski and biathlon complex. In total, more than 1,200 people from different cities of the region took part in the sports festival. The heads of the regional Ministry of Sports also started with them.
The young participants were the first to measure their strength, covering 500 meters and 1 km. Then the running and healthy lifestyle enthusiasts began the most popular distance – 5 km.
Kristina Eroshchenko ran with her daughter Milana, as the whole family loves running. As soon as the warm weather comes, they immediately discover the running season – they train at stadiums and participate in races.
- The route is difficult, but very interesting, there is an ascent and descent, but it was comfortable to run. This is a new experience for us, great, we really liked it! - said Kristina at the finish.
At 18:00 the most experienced and resilient started. The athletes had to test themselves at distances of 10 and 21.1 km, and they succeeded with great success. The strongest among the half-marathon runners were Ilyas Nurgaliev and Marina Solodova.
All participants on the track were supported by the guys from the 5 Verst project, volunteers, and the Real Time team cheered them up with live music. The starting town had entertainment areas for the whole family, a snack bar on wheels, free cotton candy and much more.
The leaders in their distances were Anastasia Ovchinnikova (500 m), Vadim Kornienko (500 m), Mark Buchnev (1 km), Arina Zakharova (1 km), Artur Pugovkin (1 km), Marusya Semichenko (1 km), Anna Syropyatova (1 km, OVI), Grigory Sharko (1 km, OVI), Vyacheslav Smykov (5 km), Violetta Shcherbakova (5 km), Maria Anferova (5 km), Ivan Malorodov (5 km), Kira Rykunova (5 km), Ekaterina Derkach (10 km), Konstantin Chebunin (10 km), Ilyas Nurgaliev (21.1 km) and Marina Solodova (21.1 km), the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region reported.
