Writer Yuri Nikitin's body to be frozen

The body of science fiction writer Yuri Nikitin, who died at the age of 85, will be frozen. This was reported by his wife Liliya Nikitina on a social network. The same post appeared on the writer's VKontakte page.

"According to the last will of Yuri Alexandrovich, his body will be subjected to cryopreservation. With the aim of returning to life in the future, when medical technologies reach the necessary level of development," the statement noted.

It also states that preserving a body in deep cooling or freezing conditions requires a large amount of money. The relatives asked readers, colleagues and like-minded people to help raise the necessary amount.

“This is a way to maintain a living connection with a man whose work inspired thousands of readers,” the message said.

Let us recall that Yuri Nikitin, known under the pseudonym Gai Yuliy Orlovsky, was born in Kharkov on November 30, 1939. His first published book was a collection of science fiction stories, "The Man Who Changed the World." In total, the science fiction writer published more than 60 books. He was called one of the founders of Slavic fantasy. In his works, he repeatedly addressed the theme of overcoming death through the achievements of the future and the belief that one day science will find a solution to problems that are insurmountable today. Nikitin repeatedly received awards and literary prizes for his works, and was the editor-in-chief of the publishing house "Otechestvo."
