ON WHAT DATA IS THE PRICE INCREASE MADE?
The rate of increase for houses is calculated by looking at the rate of change in the CPI announced by TÜİK according to the 12-month averages of the month before the month in which the increase will be made. The property owner has the right to make an increase at a rate equal to or less than this rate. For example, if the increase will be made in October, the change data of the CPI index announced by TÜİK according to the 12-month averages in September of the relevant year is looked at.
For workplaces, the rate of increase can be the rate specified in the contract. If the contract states that the increase will be made by one of the indexes announced by TÜİK, then the rent increase is calculated by looking at the change rate of the relevant index announced by TÜİK for the month before the month in which it will be made. The landlord has the right to increase the rent by a rate equal to or less than this rate. For example, if the increase is to be made in October, the September data announced by TÜİK for the relevant index in that year is looked at.
