June 2025 Sky: Astrological events of June

After sunset, the Moon and Mars can be observed in the Leo constellation region as it approaches its first quarter phase above the western horizon.

The Moon is very close to full on the southern horizon, and Antares, the brightest star in the Scorpio constellation, can be seen nearby.

On this date, the full moon will illuminate the sky with an apparent brightness of approximately magnitude -12.6. The full moon seen in June has been called the Strawberry Moon, the Rose Moon, and the Hot Moon in different cultures.

Regulus, the brightest star in the constellation Leo, will be in close proximity to Mars as the sun sets. Both will appear to be of similar brightness and can be observed above the western horizon after sunset.

With the Moon nearly half-lit, the planet Saturn can be seen close above the eastern horizon after midnight.

The Moon, approaching its new moon phase, will be very close to the open star cluster Pleiades. It is possible to observe this duo with Venus in the same region above the eastern horizon just before sunrise.

After sunset, the crescent Moon can be observed together with Mercury, when it is very close to the western horizon.
