Opportunity for a dual degree at university

The preference process is very short, so candidates need to research the opportunities of the universities and departments they are considering choosing very well now.

Double major programs (DMP) are among the important criteria for candidates' preferences at this point. Because they offer the opportunity to receive education in a different field in addition to the department they study. Thus, students have the chance to make a stronger start in the business world by having a diploma in two different fields after graduation . On the other hand, students studying at university should not miss the application dates in order to benefit from this opportunity. Many universities complete their applications between July and August.

GPA required

Applications for both programs are based on students' academic achievement. The requirements for applying to the double major are as follows:

■ Students who have a GPA of at least 70 out of 100 and are in the top 20 percent of their major diploma program in terms of success ranking in the relevant class can apply.

■ Applications can be made at the earliest at the beginning of the third semester for a major undergraduate diploma program, and at the latest at the beginning of the fifth semester for a four-year program.

■ Those who have a score not less than the base score of the relevant year of the double major program can also apply.

■ For programs that accept students through aptitude tests, it is necessary to take an aptitude test.

Cannot be done in every section

The DMP must be compatible with the student's major program. For example, law school students can do DMP in fields such as sociology, business, psychology, and history. However, for example, students studying in the business department are not given the opportunity to do DMP in law school. Because there is a success rank threshold for entering the law school. The nursing department can do DMP in health departments such as child development, physiotherapy, nutrition and dietetics, as well as in fields such as business.
