The minister wanted, the date changed!

LABOR SERVICE
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan brought forward the start date of collective bargaining negotiations for public workers from August 1 to August 28, despite being specified in the unions law.
Following Işıkhan's decision, it was announced that the 8th Term Collective Agreement bargaining table would be established three days earlier, citing the Minister's overseas schedule as the reason for the decision. KESK announced that they would be at the Ministry on August 28th to protest the Minister's arbitrary actions.
UNACCEPTABLE FRUITFULNESSKESK Co-Chair Ahmet Karagöz made the following statement regarding Işıkhan's decision to change the day:
Law No. 4688 legally guarantees that collective bargaining negotiations will begin on August 1st of each year. This process directly affects approximately 3.5 million public workers and 2.5 million public retirees. In this collective bargaining process, the date and date of which were determined months in advance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security's decision to move the negotiation date to July 28th, citing the Minister's overseas schedule, is an unacceptable lack of seriousness in our view. If the Ministry truly had a 'very important' program planned in advance, this should have been shared with the public and unions in advance. The arbitrary postponement of such a crucial process clearly reveals the perspective on public workers and their hard work. We protest and condemn this approach. The collective bargaining process is too valuable to be won through struggle, not behind the scenes.
