Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek were detained yesterday morning in dawn operations. An arrest warrant was issued for Muhittin Böcek in the evening.
They took to the streets in 3 provinces to protest the detentions and arrests. Their operations against CHP municipalities were met with backlash on social media.
Former AKP MP Şamil Tayyar made a striking post about the operations on his social media account yesterday.
Tayyar, who used the expressions "The 'Aziz İhsan Aktaş' earthquake in the municipalities shook the whole country. CHP municipalities are in trouble" in his post, said that operations will be carried out in 2 more provinces.
Tayyar said in his post, "There may be new surprises. The rupture in the Aktay fault line may also affect the neighbor. 2 provinces are at risk."
AKP's Tayyar deleted his post from his social media account after the reactions he received to his post.
