Fire breaks out on an IETT bus in Sancaktepe

Smoke began to rise from the engine compartment of the İETT bus with the license plate 34 TP 8567, which was traveling on Eski Ankara Street in İnönü neighborhood of Sancaktepe, at around 10:20. Noticing the smoke, the bus driver stopped the vehicle and asked for help from those around. Fire, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification from those around. Police teams closed the street to traffic due to the fire. As a result of the fire teams' work, the fire that broke out on the bus was extinguished. While medical teams treated the bus driver at the scene, the absence of passengers on the bus prevented a possible disaster. The bus was damaged due to the fire. The police have started work on the fire.
PEOPLE TRIED TO HELP WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHERSFurkan Şahin, who saw the fire, said, "We were sitting, the bus was moving and suddenly stopped. Then smoke started coming out. 'We ran to the corner desperately'." Umut Arslan, who saw the fire, said, "People tried to help with fire extinguishers. Then the fire crews extinguished the fire. There were no passengers on the bus, it was on an empty journey. The crews are continuing their work."
