Coded warning from meteorology for heavy showers and storms

The Ministry of Interior has issued a yellow-code meteorological warning for 52 provinces and an orange-code warning for four provinces due to thunderstorms, strong winds, and storms expected across much of the country. Citizens living in Aydın, Çanakkale, Balıkesir, and İzmir were informed via text message to take precautions.
The Ministry of the Interior, citing the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology , announced that measures are being taken against the risk of thunderstorms, strong winds, and storms affecting the entire country. The ministry announced that a yellow code warning has been issued for 52 provinces, while an orange code warning has been issued for Aydın, Çanakkale, Balıkesir, and İzmir. It was also noted that the governors of the provinces with yellow and orange code warnings have been notified via message form and email. Citizens living in the provinces with orange code warnings have also been warned via SMS to remain vigilant and cautious.
AFAD and its teams are on high alert
The statement noted that preparations are being made to respond to potential adverse events such as floods, inundations, lightning, localized hail, roof blow-offs, fallen trees, and transportation disruptions that may arise due to meteorological events. It was also reported that a sufficient number of personnel, motor pumps, boats, and vehicles have been deployed from other provinces.
The ministry emphasized that a total of 3,226 personnel, including AFAD, Highways, DSI, fire departments, gendarmerie, police, coast guard, special administrations, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, and healthcare teams, along with 240 motor pumps, 20 boats, 632 construction machines, and 684 vehicles, are on alert. These teams are reportedly on standby in provinces where meteorological warnings have been issued.

Authorities urged citizens to be vigilant and cautious against flash floods, inundations, lightning, localized hail, strong winds during rainfall, blown-off roofs, fallen trees, and potential transportation disruptions. They also urged citizens to heed warnings from relevant authorities.
