Türkiye's 'Demirtaş' application to the ECHR

Turkey has applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to reconsider the decision regarding former HDP Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who was sentenced to 42 years in prison as part of the "Kobani case."
Demirtaş was arrested as part of the investigation into the protests carried out on the pretext of Aynularab (Kobani) on October 6-7, 2014, and was sentenced to a total of 42 years in prison for various crimes in the case publicly known as the "Kobani case."
Following an application made through lawyers, the ECHR ruled that Demirtaş had been violated.
According to information obtained from Justice Ministry sources, Türkiye requested that the decision regarding Demirtaş, given by the ECHR Second Chamber, be reconsidered by the ECHR Grand Chamber.
