ISSSTE Gómez Palacio, with damage due to rain

Due to recent rains, structural damage was reported to the roof of two operating rooms and the Sterilization and Equipment Center (CEyE) at the ISSSTE Hospital Clinic (CH) in the municipality of Gómez Palacio. This led to the suspension of surgical operations and managers requesting support from the Torreón Regional High Specialty Hospital (HRAE) to transport patients for surgical evaluation.

Initially and internally, it was handled that they would send both emergencies and scheduled interventions, although the health personnel of the HRAE indicated that the latter did not correspond to them and that in addition, They had asked the Clinic to send their beneficiaries with the respective laboratory and imaging studies.

It was reported that the HRAE provided them with an operating room for the morning shift, as well as two operating rooms in the afternoon and on the weekend, and requested that they bring their own team, specially commissioned for hospital surgery, comprised of medical, anesthesiology, and nursing staff.

Yesterday, El Siglo de Torreón visited the clinic, and in an interview, deputy medical director Israel Moreno del Real acknowledged the structural damage to the institution's two operating rooms, as well as to the CEyE (Center for Disease Control and Prevention).

He mentioned that the Central Level began with a structural opinion to evaluate the safety, integrity and conditions of said spaces and identify possible risks. While this issue is being resolved, he reported that between two and three scheduled patients have been sent to the HRAE daily.

Later, César Guillermo Mendoza, director of the Hospital Clinic, reported that he was negotiating to transfer the patients to another hospital, and that they were awaiting the results of the structural assessment.
