He was caught with a stolen car. He was charged with eight counts.

On Tuesday afternoon, August 5th, the peace of a village in the Oborniki Śląskie commune was disturbed by an unusual situation. The report, received by the dispatcher in Trzebnica, sounded like the beginning of a crime story – a mysterious car, strange driver behavior, and suspicions of a theft in the making.

The officer on duty immediately dispatched police officers from Trzebnica and the Oborniki Śląskie Police Station to the scene. Officers from the Oborniki Śląskie Police Station's criminal unit arrested a 31-year-old resident of our district. It quickly became clear that the Mercedes he was driving had disappeared from the streets of Wrocław several days earlier, and the license plates did not belong to the car.

The thief spent the evening not behind the wheel, but within the cool walls of a police cell. While gathering evidence, officers uncovered other offenses. The man faces eight charges! In addition to stealing two cars, he will also face fraud and theft of power tools and license plates.

On Thursday, August 7, the 31-year-old was brought to the District Prosecutor's Office in Trzebnica. He faces up to eight years in prison, and because he was a repeat offender, the court may treat him with exceptional severity. Photo: Provincial Police Headquarters in Trzebnica.
