According to the tabloid, 47-year-old Carla Drescher was staying at the Sawasdee Village Resort in Phuket . On the evening of October 26, she went out for drinks with a man at the bar. They later returned to their room, drank more, and had sex. The couple fell asleep together, but the man was unable to wake his partner the next morning. He immediately reported the incident to the hotel staff.

Police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. No signs of foul play were found, but it was discovered that Drescher had tried a herbal inhaler at a local salon the night before. Law enforcement officials suspect this inhalation may have been the cause of her death.

Such inhalers often do not meet quality standards and contain contaminants. They can cause gangrene, botulism, and food poisoning.
