MOSCOW, November 10 — RIA Novosti. In northern Mali, Mariame Cisse was kidnapped and executed for posting videos on TikTok, SCMP reports , citing local authorities.

"Suspected jihadists in northern Mali kidnapped a young woman who posted on TikTok and then publicly executed her," the publication said.

According to the deceased's brother, she was accused of informing the Malian army about jihadist movements. He said that after her abduction, Cisse was driven on a motorcycle to the central square in the city of Tonka, where she was subsequently shot.

Tensions persist in northern Mali. The crisis in the country stemmed from the 2011 overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi's regime in Libya , which triggered a flood of Tuareg refugees into Malian territory.
