ANKARA, November 10 — RIA Novosti. Turkey expects the negotiation process between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul to resume soon, but there are no signs of this happening yet, a Turkish diplomatic source told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the Turkish side is ready to host the fourth round of talks between Moscow and Kiev in Istanbul .

"Of course, we hope that negotiations will resume. The parties were able to reach a number of humanitarian agreements in Istanbul—this is very important," the agency's source noted, responding to a question about Ankara's expectations for the resumption of negotiations.

According to him, Ankara has not yet received any specific signals indicating the possibility of resuming negotiations.

"Certain preconditions are necessary for this to happen. They don't exist yet," the source clarified.

Russia and Ukraine held three rounds of direct talks in Istanbul. These resulted in a prisoner exchange. Furthermore, Russia handed over the bodies of fallen Ukrainian servicemen to the Kyiv regime. The parties also exchanged draft memoranda on conflict resolution.

Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that Russia is ready to discuss the political aspects of the settlement with Ukraine and work in any format. However, Moscow has yet to receive a response from Kyiv to the proposal to create three working groups to more specifically address humanitarian, military, and political issues, which was put forward by the Russian side during the third round of talks with Ukraine in Istanbul in July. Furthermore, Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin's invitation to come to Moscow for talks.
