The application cannot be found through the search on the App Store website, and when trying to go to its page from search engines, a message appears about a connection that lasts forever.

"Friends, unfortunately, our app has just disappeared from the App Store. We are negotiating with Apple and looking into the reasons," Avito's press service commented on the situation.
Let us recall that this is not the first such case. The Avito app was temporarily removed from the App Store in July 2023 and in March 2024. It is not known whether the current blocking will be temporary or permanent.
If we are not talking about violations of the platform rules, the elimination of which will allow the application to return to the App Store, then the situation may be related to sanctions.
Since 2022, Avito has been owned by the investment holding Kismet Capital Group, founded by businessman Ivan Tavrin. The deal was financed by a consortium of banks led by Rosselkhozbank. In December 2023, Tavrin and companies associated with him were added to the US sanctions list, and in June 2024, he was also subject to UK sanctions. In April 2025, Rosselkhozbank acquired 50% of Avito shares. The credit institution is on the sanctions lists of the US, EU and a number of countries.
If you already have the Avito app installed on your smartphone or other Apple electronics, you can continue to use it, but do not delete or reinstall it. To avoid losing access, you need to disable the "Download unused" option in iOS. To do this, open "Settings", select the App Store, find the appropriate option and move the slider so that it turns gray.

If the app was previously installed but later deleted, you can try to restore it. To do this, in the App Store, click on the profile icon in the upper right corner, go to the Purchases section, select My Purchases, then find Avito in the list and click on the cloud icon. It is worth noting that Apple can completely remove the app from its catalog. The company can also prohibit re-downloading, impose restrictions on the region or developer.
If the application has not been installed on your smartphone, the easiest way is to open the Avito website in your browser and use the mobile version of the bulletin board.
Let us remind you that installing applications from unofficial sources is a potential security threat, since malware is often distributed this way.
It is worth noting that when removing Russian applications from the App Store (and Google Play), the main focus was on banking services and related projects. Some other sectors and individual IT companies were also blocked. For example, Apple blocked the Aeroflot application, but not Pobeda.
The reasons for such splits or mergers may include legal separateness of the companies, symbolism, scope, delayed actions. Apple often resorts to its own interpretations of sanctions. The situation is dynamic. Some companies periodically release applications with different names on behalf of third-party developers, but such products remain available in the App Store for several hours, days or weeks.
More and more often, sanctioned organizations are promoting web versions of services adapted for mobile devices and PWA (Progressive Web Apps), which can be added to the iPhone home screen as an application icon. These are not full-fledged applications from the App Store, but they provide access to the necessary functionality.
