New generation of Novgorodians chooses geography

Today is the day of passing the OGE in physics, chemistry, history and geography for 9th grade students. All these subjects are taken "optionally". In the Novgorod region, 36 points of the optional exam are allocated for those taking them.

The Novgorod Region Ministry of Education reported that 329 ninth-graders chose physics, 228 chose chemistry, 108 chose history, but the majority chose to take geography - 2,574 students.

History, Chemistry and Physics exams are allotted 3 hours each. Geography lasts only 2.5 (150 minutes).

Exam participants will know their results no later than June 11, 2025.

Note that a few days earlier, 132 ninth-graders registered for biology, 1069 for computer science, 1554 for social studies, and 254 for chemistry.
