Tatyana Golubeva, a senior lecturer at the Department of Entrepreneurship, Labor, and Corporate Law at RANEPA, discussed whether lunch breaks are paid at work. Her comments were quoted by RIA Novosti .
A legal expert told Russians that lunch breaks are not included in the workday and are unpaid.
"According to Article 108 of the Russian Labor Code, every employee is entitled to a break for rest and meals lasting no more than two hours and no less than 30 minutes. This period is unpaid and is not included in the standard workday," she reminded.
Ophthalmologist Anna Shamarova previously gave office workers advice on how to protect their vision. To give their eyes a rest, she urged them to follow the "20-20-20" rule—that is, rest their eyes for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.
