Gendarmerie raids gun smugglers in traffic in Eyüpsultan

Eyüpsultan District Gendarmerie Command teams monitored a group involved in arms smuggling for approximately a month. After the investigation identified the suspects as smugglers, the gendarmerie teams completed their preparations and took action.
Gendarmerie teams launched an operation targeting suspects on June 15th, conducting simultaneous raids on two separate groups. Stopping the suspects as they walked down the street, gendarmerie teams seized 50 unlicensed pistols, 50 magazines, and 79 rounds of ammunition from a cardboard box inside a toy bag the suspects were carrying.
6 suspects arrestedThe operation was captured on a cell phone camera. Drivers who witnessed the operation were briefly stunned. YA, UA, BE, KG, O.Ö., and BG, who were apprehended during the operation, were taken into custody. After giving their statements at the gendarmerie station and completing legal procedures, the six suspects were arrested and sent to prison on charges of "arms smuggling."
