The Steel Dome of Drones: TOLGA Drone Defense System

İlhami Keleş, General Manager of Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi AŞ, provided information about the system, saying, "It's a layer complement that can lower the dome, which forms the lower layers of the Steel Dome on a drone basis, to 300 meters, or even 30 meters. We can call it the Steel Dome of drones. TOLGA creates the threat to drones under the Steel Dome, and the Steel Dome of the drone. Türkiye is one of only five or six countries that can produce cannons for its own ships."
The TOLGA Drone Defense System was developed by Machinery and Chemical Industry Inc. (MKE) to address next-generation security threats. The system combines electronic jamming and physical destruction capabilities under a single roof, providing a layered and integrated defense against drones. Featuring a command and control center, radar systems, turret weapons, and the specially developed TOLGA ammunition family, the TOLGA Drone Defense System provides a multi-layered and integrated defense shield against drones. İlhami Keleş, General Manager of Machinery and Chemical Industry Inc., provided information about the multi-layered TOLGA Drone Defense System.
İlhami Keleş, General Manager of Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi AŞ, said, "Drone threats, which played critical roles in the Ukraine war and subsequently in the subsequent interventions against Israel and Iran, have come to the forefront. This is because they are simple, inexpensive, and can yield effective results. Therefore, countermeasures have also become paramount. The need has intensified. As a company that knows both how to manufacture weapons and ammunition very well, we have developed a system solution for this. A command and control center managed by artificial intelligence. The radar, which acts as the eyes and ears of this command and control center, first shoots down the drones detected by this radar by disrupting their electronics if possible. If this is not possible, they have started using drones guided via fiber optic cables. It has become necessary to shoot down and destroy the drones that cannot be jammed because they are guided via fiber optic cables. We have developed a layered solution to meet that need. The 35-millimeter cannon fires 1,100 rounds per minute for countermeasures at the longest range. Each cannon ammunition is fragmented in front of the target. Each fragment becomes a bullet. "By creating a cloud, it has the ability to destroy drones there. We confront those that have somehow managed to hang from there with 20-millimeter weapons. There's very intense firepower there, too. 1,600 rounds, 800 rounds. When we descend from there, we use a three-barreled, very high-velocity close-in weapon at 300 meters to create a barrage in front of the drones, effective from 30 to 300 meters away. We're achieving this step by step," he said.
"TOLGA also creates the Steel Dome of the Drone"Keleş stated that the TOLGA Drone Defense System also forms the drone's Steel Dome, saying, "Türkiye has a Steel Dome. It has a layer complement that can lower the dome, which forms the lower layers of the Steel Dome on a drone basis, to 300 meters or even 30 meters. We can call this the Steel Dome of Drones. With the Steel Dome of Drones, an end-to-end Steel Dome is formed. We are integrating the drone version of the Steel Dome with the layered drone infrastructure. TOLGA also forms the Steel Dome of the drone, which protects the threat against drones, beneath the Steel Dome."
"Türkiye is one of the 5 or 6 countries that can produce cannons for its own ships."Keleş, stating that Türkiye is one of the 5 or 6 countries that can produce cannons for its own ships, said, "It is one of the 2 countries that can sell these in international markets. We have made great strides in the naval artillery field. We also conducted a controlled exercise of the PİRANA KİDA, which is effective, simple, radar-proof, and can achieve very fast results. After the fair, we will complete the test of direct ground control, control from the ship and TB3, and control from space, that is, from satellite. We have two new sniper rifles added to the sniper family. One is unique in the world as the lightest sniper rifle with a range of 2,200 kilometers and a range of 2,200 kilometers. The underground imaging system is particularly effective against improvised explosive devices. We produce anti-drone systems, but we also produce kamikaze drones. Some of these are laser-guided. Some are fiber-optic-guided. Some are tube-launched munitions. We have measures taken to protect soldiers from toxic gases and chemical gases in the operational environment regarding CBRN systems. "We have implemented a solution. Everything we make is domestic and national. In this sense, we are not dependent on foreign sources," he said.
