Those who were tired of the hot weather in Istanbul cooled off in the Bosphorus

In Istanbul, where thermometers exceeded 35 degrees Celsius and the actual temperature exceeded 40 degrees Celsius, those suffering from the heat rushed to the beaches to cool off. Those swimming in the beaches of Beşiktaş and Sarıyer enjoyed the cool waters of the Bosphorus. Bebek Beach in Beşiktaş and Akıntıburnu in Sarıyer were packed with people swimming to cool off.
THEY RAN TO THE COOL WATERS OF THE BOSPHORUSAt Akıntıburnu, some residents swam in the sea to cool off, while others chose to sit in the shade. Those escaping the heat tried to cool off by swimming and spending time under trees and by the sea. Twelve-year-old Eymen Arda Balıkçı, stating that he came to swim with his family, said, "My plan is to swim all the time. I came with my family and have been here since the morning. I swim all summer long, and I swim in the winter too." İbrahim Çetin, who jumped into the water with his clothes on, said, "I jump in with my clothes on so I don't dry out immediately after getting out of the water, but to stay cooler. It dries slower. I've been here since last night because the weather was so hot. I didn't swim because the sea was dirty last night. Other than that, I come here every week on my vacation."
'VERY HOT PEOPLE, BE CAREFUL'Ramazan Balıkçı, who said he's been swimming in Akıntıburnu with his children for years, said, "We're from Arnavutköy. When summer comes, we're always here, even if the temperature is 50 degrees. Sometimes we even go in during the winter when the weather is nice. It's very hot, people should be careful. It's been an hour since we arrived, and we're here until 7:00 or 8:00 PM." Enes Balıkçı said, "When you think of cooling off, Akıntıburnu is the first place that comes to mind. We call ourselves 'Children of the Bosphorus.' It's extra hot today. I've never seen Istanbul this hot. It almost feels like it reaches 40-45 degrees. It's a perfect activity to cool off in the summer."
AKOM WARNINGS 'HOTTEST DAY'According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, temperatures in Istanbul are expected to hover between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius throughout the week. Meanwhile, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Affairs Department (AKOM) announced that the heat wave, originating in Africa, will intensify across much of Türkiye, especially Istanbul. It was also stated that Istanbul will experience its hottest day yet, with temperatures hovering around 39 degrees Celsius by noon today and exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in some areas. A strong northerly wind will take hold in the city starting in the evening, and due to the wind's influence, the relative humidity will rise between 40 percent and 85 percent. The sweltering heat is expected to continue until Sunday. AKOM warned against going out between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for health reasons, emphasizing that the elderly, pregnant women, and those with respiratory or chronic illnesses are also in the high-risk groups.
