The leader of the HTS administration in Syria, Ahmed al-Shara, visited Türkiye. Arriving in Istanbul, Shara met with AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Dolmabahçe Office. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, MİT Director İbrahim Kalın, Defense Industry Director Haluk Görgün, Syrian Foreign Minister Esad Hasan Şeybani and some other officials also attended the meeting.

In a statement made after the meeting, it was said, "President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that he believes that much brighter and more peaceful days await Syria and that Türkiye will continue to stand by Syria as it has done until now."

Shara also met with US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria Thomas Barrack in Istanbul.

Following Şara's visit to Istanbul, a news report in a local newspaper in Sakarya attracted attention. Şara was accompanied on his visit by Sakarya Governor Rahmi Doğan, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar and members of the Sakarya protocol.
